This story caught our attention if only because it speaks volumes of the premiums that are paid by owners for the maintenance of their private chariots. Air charter gang, take note.

This write up on fractional ownership exemplifies many of the older trends in aviation which may have confusing effects going forward. How much longer can the $50,000 interior job and $50,000 paint job last for? Simply put, it seems that aircraft owners are the "providers" of profit, rather than highly utilized aircraft that actually "earn their keep." Stay tuned to this type of story since we have some original content coming out that addresses the cornerstones of private aviation head on: Aircraft Charter Customers, Operators and Owners and the why and how of the economic engine that we know of as business aviation.
