For those air charter fanatics who are tired of all the "spammy" / "give me a break" press releases that trumpet corporate lies or information of little value, here is a press release from a small company that actually means something. While links to news from the home page are usually reserved for "real" air charter industry news, this press release is worthy of the front page only because Prior Aviation has really broken the mold of laissez faire and arbitrary pricing with their Lear 35A and Lear 31A turbine fleet - they have actually used math in calculating cost and profit on a per trip basis and are maximizing the value they deliver to their clients. In December of 2004, AirWebster sought to do a one way from Clarksdale, MS to Montreal, QC in a Lear 35A. Prior Aviation responded by getting out their pencil and paper and determining what that trip should cost if they looked at it from the perspective of: a) What was the COST to do this "one way" in the future. b) What was the PROFIT they wanted to earn on the flight. c) How could they get RSVPair to help promote the empty capacity. This PR sheds more light on this big first step for a small town air carrier who is now doing one ways using a simple concept: What is my cost..and what should my profit be if I must come home empty. Simple, the way life should be. |
