Wright repeal would devastate D/FW, study says   PDF  Print  E-mail

This is the kind of sham that makes even the least savvy air charter soldier thoroughly unhappy. Or to quote one of our fellow air charter gurus, "Very, very sick, in a diseased, protectionist way. Last repository of AMR's 2,000 dollar economy fares." What this means, is that big companies with big lobbying power can get away with very very stupid things that stunt industry growth.

In the air charter world, this would be akin to saying that you could not use Teterboro, NJ (KTEB) to its full potential unless you were "somebody special." If you weren't, you could use the airport, but not conduct flights to NY, CT, DE or PA from Teterboro, NJ (KTEB) Boy the airline business is fun.

This story makes one sick to the stomach when you think about the strange lies they have to tell themselves in order to feel good about toasting money that is not theirs to begin with. The fact is that competition, long term, is a *good* thing and is one of the founding principles of the country. The even crueler irony is that the company with the low fares (and good service) actually makes more net profit than the mentally handicapped dinosaur that is trying to protect its turf at DFW.

To quote my Uncle Vito - "Take 'em out back..and give 'em two in the hat." There are plenty of jobs to go around for everyone, just a matter of cleaning up diseased management first.

This post was made by Adam Webster who does not condone or support the use of firearms, except when dealing with vermin that really have no place in free enterprise.
