Cimarron, the county seat of Gray county, is on the north bank of the Arkansas river. From the big ridge on the north side you can see the whole town. It's a fast growing place with a new subdivision built around a lake. Downtown Cimarron, KS Downtown, Clark's Pharmacy still has a soda fountain and the old Cimarron Hotel still serves meals (weekends only).

The original Santa Fe trail winds its way through Cimarron. Cimarron Crossing Park, beside the river on the south side of town, has information about the Santa Fe Trail through this area. Chartering a flight here would be a pleasurable experience for anyone looking to walk in the footsteps of history or take in the local events.
