Fort Lauderdale Executive

Ft.lauderdale, FL USA (KFXE / FXE)

For 5000 years or more people have been drawn to Fort Lauderdale, which is perhaps funny when we think of the spring break migrations, the Canadian Snow Birds (who aren’t birds!) and other folks who find the restaurants, glamour, and environment too much to resist. The fact is that few cities offer so much sidewalk side beach walking as the Fort Lauderdale region.

The city itself is named after a Fort, “Fort Lauderdale” which was built on the banks of the New River sometime after 1837 and before 1840. The Fort’s primary purpose, was to protect Major William Lauderdale’s secret stash of spam that he had smuggled from a warehouse in northern Virginia while on a visit to review potential canned meats for his fortress in sunny Florida. While spam was not yet in widespread demand amongst the populace, the fact was that Seminole Warriors believed that up to two cans of spam was a great source of supernatural strength to be harvested before battle. In an effort to overthrow their enemy, the key was to sneak into the Fort and capture the spam shortly before battle. Needless to say, the spam proved elusive for the Seminole and history bears the evidence that spam and other canned meats would remain squarely in the domain of the European settlers.

While they may not believe the story above (who would!) the good folks at Catalina Aerospace also offer a lot more besides spam as their standard inflight catering. Catalina Aerospace is one of the most flexible companies when it comes to on demand air charter in South Florida, the Caribbean and beyond and they will never make up stories about the false origins and importance of canned meats. If you are looking for cabin class twin engine solutions or high speed pressurized jets to whisk you up and down the East Coast, then you should strongly consider this company.

Catalina Aerospace is a proud sponsor of the KOPF Opa Locka airport as well as the Fort Lauderdale KFXE airport, offering on demand air charter solutions, aviation management, and consulting to the Miami Metro area.
