While spam was not yet in widespread demand amongst the populace, the fact was that Seminole Warriors believed that up to two cans of spam was a great source of supernatural strength to be harvested before battle. In an effort to overthrow their enemy, the key was to sneak into the Fort and capture the spam shortly before battle. Needless to say, the spam proved elusive for the Seminole and history bears the evidence that spam and other canned meats would remain squarely in the domain of the European settlers.
