Addison Airport was conceived in 1954 by a group of aviation enthusiasts, and developed under the direction of Henry Stuart. Construction of the airport, completed in 1957, was followed by Stuart’s selling the airport to the Town of Addison in 1986. It is now the third largest general aviation airport in the country and boasts a runway of 7,200 feet.
