Huntsville Intl Carl T Jones Fld

Huntsville, AL USA (KHSV / HSV)

Pioneer John Hunt, for whom the city is named, occupied a cabin alongside a spring here in 1805. The town that soon flourished became the largest in the Alabama Territory by 1819, and served as the first state capital. Huntsville is now one of the premier technological centers in the U.S. Located adjacent to Huntsville, Redstone Arsenal is home to the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, the Army Aviation and Missile Command and the Army Space and Missile Defense Command. Redstone Arsenal is set for significant expansion as a result of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) commission. Marshall is NASA’s space program propulsion center of excellence and is supported by numerous engineering and technology firms. Families can pretend to be an astronaut at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and Space Camp. Huntsville is also home to Hampton Cove, one of the premier stops on the world-class Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. Huntsville is listed as one of Forbes Best Places for Business Careers.
